Oktris Web Portal

The investment industry, whether it be firms themselves or the private clients investing with them, has long called for a quick and easy way of accessing instrument reference data.  Wouldn’t it be ideal if there was a single, free-of-charge source to go to that happens to be the same data used by the regulators?

Now there is such a place to go.  Oktris has recently launched a new web portal which is open to all and incorporates the free-of-charge FIRDS instrument reference data from ESMA and, in anticipation of the 1st January Brexit deadline, from the FCA too.

For those unfamiliar with FIRDS, this dataset has the advantage of being that data used by the regulators to validate transaction reports, amongst other things, and can provide a firm with either a primary instrument reference data source – or complement existing data sources already being used. Instruments of all asset classes traded across the UK’s and EU’s Trading Venues and Systematic Internalisers are represented. The basic Oktris FIRDS service works across devices so that, for example, users can read the datasets via their mobile phone as easily as from their desktop PC.  Enter an ISIN and click one button – it’s that simple.

There are other useful free resources:  a Firm Finder that enables users to identify all Trading Venues, SIs and firms registered by ESMA National Competent Authorities by using a single identifier – with some neat graphics too.

Think of Oktris as your go-to site to have open on your desktop for whenever you need to trade.

Take a look.  Go to https://oktris.com/ and click “LOGIN” to access the portal or register your free account to access Oktris FIRDS.  Premium, chargeable services are also available now; other Oktris services will become available as they are migrated on to the portal.  Coming soon:  Best Execution reporting providing comparison of firms’ execution of client orders.
